Doctors and patients

Welcome

Welcome to the Allergy/Immunology fellowship program in the Division of Immunology at the University of Iowa! Our fellowship program has been accredited by the ACGME since 1981 and has trained more than 30 fellows who have gone on to successful careers in private practice or academic medicine.

Our 24-month, ACGME-accredited program provides extensive outpatient and inpatient clinical experiences in adult and pediatric allergic and immunologic disorders. Weekly educational conferences and regularly scheduled hands-on workshops ensure that our fellows develop the in-depth knowledge and abilities necessary for providing superior patient care and for eventual board certification. Each fellow is assigned a research mentor who oversees the development and completion of scholarly projects throughout the fellowship.

For selected candidates on an academic research path, the fellowship can be structured over 36 months for an additional year of research training. Opportunities for additional training to become clinical educators are also available. Our faculty are renowned leaders in the field and are committed to training the next generation of allergists/immunologists.
